Default Dry sump Oil Pans

I have a few questions on oil pans. Whats the difference between my stock oil pan and a dry sump oil pan? If they are even made for b16a's and what is necessary if you get one. Do you need an oil catch can breather or anything of the sort and what is the performance side of dry sump oil pans do they provide better lubrication or keep the temps down more any help would be appreciated.
