i use AIM/iChat all day everyday and don't see any problem with it.

Back in the day when they would send those free cds with hours my brother got mad, so he and his buddies started collecting all of them. Just my brother alone has a big as bag full of cds. Im not sure how he did it, but he said they sent them all back to aol.

Those all may be true, but AIM is still one of the most popular (if not the most popular) instant messaging programs out there. I still use it, and I will use it as long as I am using IM. Yahoo and MSN (MSN expecially) are too complicated/fancy for me. AIM is very simple (at least the version I have) and it works well for me. AOL internet is useless, but AIM is actually not a bad program.

AIM is great, i use it all the time. AOL sucks though. people confuse the two all the time. The stand alone AIM is great if you dont install the tool bars and junk with it.
