Default tuning a mild b16 build (ITR cam/ CTR piston)

In order to make surethis set up isnice and safe, im not too bothered about extracting every last bhp from this setup, can i use a VAFC and an AFR guageto advance the fueling high up in the rev range to rule out any detonation possibilities. Can i tune by AFR alone? I would only be making mild adjustments to keep the AFR within safe boundaries and i dont care about having an extremely fuel efficient setup or one which is bent on extracting every last bhp from my parts, just a basic tune

PS, i know i posted the other day a similarish thread, but this set up is verydifferent and i would appreciate any input as google has failed me

thanks

Default RE: tuning a mild b16 build (ITR cam/ CTR piston)

You will be able to tune fuel in all RPM ranges, in low throttle and high throttle. As long as you have a wideband, you should be ok. Although, you cannot adjust timing through the VAFC, so you will not be getting every last HP you were hoping for. I personally have the Neo, I just use that to make fine tuning adjustments for different day to day changes. Other than that, I'm tuned with Crome, tuned by me(99 EX D16 turbo'd 11psi)! I've been in your shoes before, it's easier to just go with a new EMS(obd1 P28 ecu w/Crome, Hondata, etc) and get it tuned. You will save lots of money and time in the long run...
