2008 CIVIC-Will my harsh ride get smoother

I have a 2008 Civic DX-A. I am used to driving a van, and quite frankly find the suspension on the Civic rather harsh. I have only done 600 miles (1200 kilometers) so I am wondering if the suspension will smooth out with more miles on it!

Bigger heavier cars with bigger engines tend to ride smoother, I used to have a 92 Crown Victoria and riding that car was like riding a cloud no car has been that comfortable. The Civic is a smaller car I think its because you are so used to the van that it seems rough, you will get used to it eventually.

I couldn't imagine what you would say about my car(17" rims, tad lighter, low profile tires)

I agree that a smaller car with lighter weight is going to have a firmer ride, but I think it is too firm. I ride sport bikes with firm suspension, and I find my bike gives a smoother ride. I'm wondering if the car sat in the dealers lot for too long and the tires have a flat spot.

if there was a flat spot you'd feel constant bumps, not a firm ride. But I doubt a new car sat that long to even get a flat spot.

or mine... 17's, sitting on the ground, stiff-as-f**k shocks.

Anyway, it's just how civics are... they all have pretty rough rides. You'll get used to it after a little while.

Sport bikes have big springs, have you seen the civics springs and shocks? they are pretty small.

Fill the passenger side footwell and half of the trunk with sandbags. Then you will have the feel and performance of driving a van!
Can your van take a sharp corner at twice the recommended speed? Learn to enjoy the superior handling and responsiveness of your new car.

I didn't know there was a recommended speed for turning or doing u-turns [sm=rolleyes.gif]

^ You haven't noticed the yellow speed limit signs below turn ahead signs? That's the turn's recommended speed.
