I have to agree with your decision. If the other person in the relationship is completely unwilling to communicate what's really going on and doesn't want to work on the problems that are stemming from the lack of communication, then the relationship isn't worth it.

Even though I'm a female and am not afraid to physically or verbally beat the living hell out of a guy, I don't (unless absolutely necessary). Especially if I'm in a relationship with that person. The extremely rare times that I've been a complete bitch to my boyfriend had only been because I had sh!t going in my life that was really bothering me (family problems, bad day at work, or the dreaded hormones), I didn't know how to better communicate that at the time. After a little bit I would calm down and apologize for being an A5S and explain what was really going on. Anymore, I try my best to avoid the psycho bitch approach and really lay my cards on the table when somethings bothering me.

Communication is a fundamental part of a relationship, without communication there's no trust, without trust, what's the point of being in a relationship that's obviously not stable?

It's been about 3 days since I ended it. I have to say. It feels good. I feel like there's a huge weight off my shoulders, and from what I hear, she's doing good as well.
