hey guys i drive a 98 civic ex coupe. the suspension is stock. whenever i go over a bump the back of my car makes a sqeak sound. a mechanic told me it was a rear sway bar bushing. i called the dealership to get the part but they said my car dosent have rear sway bar bushings. what could be the problem?

Could be the dust cover on the rear shocks. That's what happened to me before. My dust cover was rubbing against the shock.

It could be a different bushing.

I'm not sure if you would new ones or not. They are located on the shocks and cover the piston. I guess my problem was that my car was lowered and they were too tall on the shock, causing them to rub against the shock and squeak. If this turns out to be the problem you can replace them with KYB dust covers which you can get from tirerack.com and they are designed to compress when the shock compresses. I just noticed that you said that you are on stock suspension and this probably isn't your problem.
