Ok so i just bought a 97 Honda Civic that has a skunk 2 coil over suspension system on it that lowers it so that it almost sits on top of the wheels, it has 18 inch ones on it btw. The problem is that it is tearing the hell out of these $200 tires (there are black streaks along the side of the car from the shredded rubber) and everyone is telling me that it cant be fixed. I dont know anything about lowered cars and im almost to the point of trading someone for a 2001 focus that hasnt been messed with. Id rather keep the car if this problem is correctable though so any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Aaron

well if its a coilover setup, you can raise it, also, get 16" wheels, or 17's tops, 18s are way to big...try rolling your fenders if it hasnt been done, and learn to drive maybe?

ha nice...i race motorcycles so thanks i know how to drive...maybe i should know how to fix this as well though lol. anyway the tires arent actually rubbing the car. they are wearing away on the inside tread extremly fast from contact with the road. i know its because the toe is off, at least i think so, but is this something thats going to always give me problems with a lowered car? also the coilovers are adjusted for maximum height. thanks again for any advice

You can adjust the height from i think like 1.25 inches to 2.5 idk something like that. But the inside of the tread problem can be fixed.

you need a camber kit. its an adjustable upper control arm for the fronts (and they are available for the rears as well, if you need them) then get an alignment, because fixing the camber will throw off the toe, and that will rip through them even faster.

Yes, there's a "Replacement for Displacement". Its called Volumetric Efficiency.
