yeah, offset has quite a bit to do with you rubbing... just looking at it, the tire size seems right for a 16x7 wheel, and with the right offset, a 7 inch wide wheels shouldn't rub in rear.

dito... whats the rims offset....
most likely your tires are geting cut up very bad on the outter top edges..
ALSO how much have ya lowered the car? cause on stock suspension it shouldnt rub!

either sell the rims and get the right offset ones OR if they dont rub to much.. roll the fender lips! just depends HOW BAD the offset is.....

i rolled my rear fender lips..

i see. im sure it's the offset then by the looks of your replies. what should the offset be? i dont know what my offsets are. is there a way to measure, or is the measurement displayed somewhere on the tire? i basically asked a mechanic's suggestion on just the size of the rims i want, then he ordered them. i'm newbie, so i'm just finding out about offsets now. my rims are Grid's by Rota. you guys are very helpful in this forum.

Basically, the offset is the distance from the back of the mounting pad (what goes up against the brake when you mount the wheel on the car) to the wheel's centerline.  You can measure it, but I'm sure it's not an easy thing to do.  Most manufacturers stamp the offset on the back of one of the spokes of the wheels.  To avoid rubbing, the offset should be at least +38mm, ideally something between +40 and +45.

dito..... pull one wheel off and simply look at the back of the mounting point or the spokes.... they should have stampings on them...
like this...... my offset is 42
its got quite a bit of info stamped onto the rim.

Were the wheels already on the car when you bought it, or did you just buy these?

damn, i really dont have time to remove one of them. ill have to find out and ask them what size they actually ordered for me. so the only way to fix this without rolling the fenders is to buy a new set of wheels with an offset between 38-45 to avoid rubbing?  i hope you mean anything under 45 because i dont see anything bigger than 45 on rota's website (http://www.rotawheels.com/grid.php), and i just might have the 45 offset if thats so.
