View Full Version : Anti-Sway Bar Install??? jprommel 04-25-2008, 07:25 PM I plan on purchasing a rear sway bar kit for my 1997 civic ex coupe and i would like to know if the install process is difficult, and if i should get any sort of reinforcement for said sway bar so i dont tear it out??? ShowcaseCivic 04-25-2008, 07:56 PM here's a diy that i found it helped with mine a lot. beware of seized bolts and i'd suggest getting a reinforcement kit either the beaks or ASR brace, that's what i got http://www.clubcivic.com/board/showthread.php?t=69833&highlight=rear+sway+bar+ins tall jprommel 04-26-2008, 10:26 AM thanks a bunch this will be a big help and it answered all my questions. but now i have just one more question to ask now that i know how to do the install. which anti-sway bar should i get? mud 04-26-2008, 01:27 PM Many people on the site have purchased some ebay bars from bomzracing. They have four of them for less and 100$ and they are not big enough to need to add reinforcements. If you're just looking for a better suspension for your daily driver then I would go with these. I'm pretty sure just the asrsubframe is 300$-600$ just for the reinforcement. jprommel 04-26-2008, 04:29 PM Bomz Racing doesnt sell anti sway bars they sell strut bars, which are entirely different than anti-sway bars. strut bars improve chassis rigidity whereas sways lessen body roll. but anywho would a 22mm bar possibly rip out? civicexracer 04-27-2008, 09:39 AM yes, get a subframe brace if u go with a 22mm. jprommel 04-28-2008, 04:28 AM How about an 18mm bar? |
