i do not recommend that setup for a stock civic.  just pay up and get the right sized wheels/tires.

there isnt much stock anything left on the car homie. also, im in the middle of a $3000 engine build so its not a matter of me being a cheapass and not wanting to buy new tires. i WANT the stretched look with a little wheel poke. make fun of me if you will for being a litle german but i like the look.

what if i were to add a 5-10mm spacer to crank up the offset if there wasnt enough inner clearance? this really isnt a practical application and i understand that. this is just style preferance for cruising, im buying a set of 15's with falkens for track days in a couple months.

engine modifications have absolutely nothing to do with the geometry of your suspension.  you need to modify your wheel wells and definitely upgrade your brakes if you want a little safety.  plus that would be a good bit of stress be applied to your suspension with 17x8's and heavy tires plus huge spacers.  and i wouldn't recommend lowering your car unless you have very flared fenders front and back.

p.s. i'm also part german, but that doesn't mean all germans like the stretched look. and if i wanted my car to look german, i'd just buy a german made car.

i'm not trying to come off as an ass, i'm just trying to tell you the best solution.

yes, i realize it has nothing to do with the engine. i just said that because you made a comment about me paying up to buy the riht tires. money isnt an issue. and as a matter of fact i have 12.1" brakes and ebc greenstuff pads on order. it will put stress on my suspension i realize, but im riding a very tough coilover setup as it is. and if you had read the beginning of my post you would have seen that im rolling my fenders and if need be flaring them. im no beginer with modding.

i know, didn't say you didn't know anything, it's just that people come onto this site asking if something they already have will fit just so they don't have to spend any money when it clearly doesn't fit.  plus i hate it when people run tires that stick a half a foot past their fenders.  for some reason all the hispanics here love that look, i just think it looks cheap and retarded.  ask someone if they could photochop 17x8's with stretched tires just to make sure that's what you want.

well we put it up on the lift today to do some measuring in the wheel wells and determining offset so that clearance is good and wont rub, and also so that it wont be popping way out the side chicano style. ill need about a +55 offset to be clear of everything and for the edge of the rim to juuuuuuust barely poke out from the body but still have the tire tuck nicely. i look at it as this; if i succeed then ive got something different from 99% of civics, but if i fail then i sell the wheels on craigslist for $350 and buy the 17x7 of that wheel like a sensible person
