As mentioned in another topic, I'm putting a new stereo in my car on Friday. But I've heard tale that the keyless entry system is routed through the stock stereo. Can anyone confirm or deny that?
Also, in regards to the keyless entry system, I'd like to be able to use the stock remotes with an alarm system, as well. I know there's the Honda add-on module, but is it worth it? Has anyone any experience with it? Or can anyone recommend a different solution that doesn't rely on a new set of remotes?

Yes, the stock stereo is the receiver/transmitter for the factory keyless entry system. I have been told that you can have the stock stereo installed somewhere behind the dash with power run to it and be able to use your keyless entry. Or, you can have an aftermarket system installed which is what I did in my '99 EX Coupe. However, that does mean you'll have a different remote. May I ask why you insist on using the factory remotes??
