my civic makes noise at the rear right wheel when braking, and taking sharp left turns. it sometimes does it and sometimes doesnt. then when it got louder, we took off the tire and cleaned the drum to see if that helps, and it did.. doesnt make any more noise when braking. but when we take sharp left turns there sometimes is still a little noise (but not as loud as before) does anyone know whats up with it?

Well you could start with what year you are driving. After market suspension? Wheels? Brakes? and WHAT KIND OF NOISE??? Squeaking? Creaking? Grinding? What???

^ need those questions answered to get close to diagnosing the problem(s). there are many components that could be the culprit, bushings, shocks, bolts, brake componenets, etc..

Probably the bearing. It should be nearly silent when you turn the hub by hand with the drum off. The rear wheels use conventional tapered-roller bearings that are cheap and easy to replace.

ok sry heres more info :) 2004 Honda civic sedan with ~114k km on it. everything stock its more like a grinding noise but not too loud but you can hear it clearly, its not a constant grind, it sounds like one part of it is messed up and as the wheel spins it keeps grinding on that part which makes the noise also, couple months ago we took our car to canadian tire to get the all season tires changed to winter, and we got into an argument with the guy changing our wheels (long story, but it has nothing to do with the issue right now so ill go on) and then he decided to **** up our bolts and bearing with the air gun. later when we took it back to Honda they told us the rear bearing was broken and needed to be replaced. so we payed $400 and i suppose we should have a new one ^ if that helps

Take it back to Honda again, as their bearing job went bad so soon they should do it again under warranty.
