I used to be a really active member on this forum, but it seems to have completely lost it's popularity. I see half as many new threads as I used to.

There is always many guests on the site, but hardly any new members signing up!

HCF does seem a lot slower than it used to be.

Well, slower in the sense of people posting but also slower in terms of page load time :p

well, people aren't doing as much to their cars now a days considering the economic state, cost of living, as well as gas prices. and plus summer is just now starting, so it might pick back up.

yeah, it has been a little slow lately... hopefully things will pick back up again this summer.

Lol I highly doubt that it has anything to do with the "economic state"!

The site is just loosing momentum. New, better things are sprouting up. This site is doing well in search engines, but if it wants to stay that way it needs to update it's board software like Honda Civic Forum (http://www.hondacivicforum.co.uk/) has.

??? how so? considering people aren't spending as much money, credit rates are insane, the cost of basic food items are all skyrocketed, the ethanol and corn industry are killing the prices of most food items in your grocery store. so what does this mean? it means you're spending a hell of a lot more everywhere for just the cost of living, and since your car is a luxury item, people tend to forget about them when they're low on cash. so how does that no make sense? oh yeah, the stimulus packages are just arriving, so thatmight speed up car customization, as well as this site perhaps.

It's strange that the forum you refer to for comparison seems to be struggling.

Maybe there are less older Civics out there so people aren't out here doing mods on newer cars that are under warranty. It seems that the most mods are done to cars from 2000 and older. The newer cars questions are more basic questions like maintenace lights, oil type. etc...

Maybe people learned to use the search button and found that their questions have been answered 50 times already! [8D]

yah i have a 2000 civic ex and i wanna put money into it and put more work into make it a little more nicer but i just cant with all my bills and gas bill its pretty sad when you gotta watch your moneyon what you spend just to pay for gas. So if prices were alot lower i could do a little more to my civic but i can only do a little at a time just because prices are so damn high!

How is this relevant? I was talking about the board software being superior.

For example try to use this site without the www. in the address: http://hondacivicforum.com/

I think that Ron thinks the forum is struggling cause people don't seem to like the way the admins/mods run the site, we could be like HT and ban anyone that says the slightest thing, but no.... and we're still considered Nazi's

I agree with college, it seems a good amount of the forum is in college now and the summers coming very soon, 4 days for me, and 5 days from now i'll already be doing a mod, so hopefully other people have this in mind also. but it does seem to not be as popular as it was.
