1st oil change-5000 miles. Should I now go sythentic? - 5/2/2008 5:55:35 PM    regor   Posts: 16 Joined: 12/28/2007 Status: offline So finally I hit the 5000 mile mark on my civic. Oil monitor states 40%, but with my constant daily commute from almost sea level to 5000 feet (81 mile RT), I figure I should change the oil. In past vehicles, I always made the switch to sythentic (Mobil-1) at this mark. Should I stay with Honda's oil, or switch to sythentic? I welcome your comments. Post #: 1
