hi there need a bit of help i hav a civic coupe 1995-1998 with a d16z6 engine out of a 1992-1995.the problem iv got is that when u turn the key 1 click the rev counter goes up too 1 and stays there and then when u start the engine it goes up to 2 and idles there.but the engine is onyl idleing at 1k even tho the counter says 2 any help would be great thanks

The blue wire connected to the igniter unit in the distributor sends the signal to the tachometer gauge. Disconnect this blue wire and then turn the ignition key to ON. If the needle still jumps to 1K, then I think you have a bad tachometer gauge. If not, then you may have a faulty igniter unit.
