Hey guys i have some questions and i need your opinions (im saying in advance... sorry for grammer and misspelling im sick and dont feel like stressing my brain)!

Ok i have a 2000 civic si and and 16 with no job so money is scarse. and i have ideas.

Heres my car.

(YOU WILL NOTICE THE PAINT CHIPS IN THE FIRST COUPLE OF PICTURES!! THEY ARE ALL FIXED as seen in the last one!! i did it myself)

Ok now that youve seen it...

I have problems that i dont like with it.

1.) FENDERS- I do not like them they were on the car when i bought it. SO should i:
A: Paint the vents back or blue so they dont "stick out" as much (REMEMBER I DONT HAVE A LOT OF MONEY TO BUY OEMS AND MATCH PAINT)
B: Leave it the way they are, it looks fine as a temp
C: Your idea... let me know.

2.) WHEELS- They are 2000 Si wheels and yet again... they were painted black when i got them. Now i was thinking:

A: Striped the paint off, sand them down and repaint them Silver
B: Strip the paint off, sand them down and repaint them gloss black
C: Your idea here
(This is a temporary because i dont have money for the rims i want.)

3.) HOOD- The clearcoat on the CF is totally becoming ruined... it makes it look like poo... i was thinking:

A: DO EVERYTHING MYSELF- Wetsand it down... buy clearcoat and do it myself *WILL NEED HELP*
B: Bring it to a shop. Have themreclearcoat it
C: Bring it to a shop. have them sand it down and paint to match
D: Your idea here

(i am not buying a new hood yet i want a new cf one)

thats all for now... thanx for your advice

Dude- I think your car is sick - just take care of the hood by yourself (I'm big on DIY!) and I agree... you gotta do something about the fender vents - I think black would be sweet! I like the wheels and would not do a thing to them. Nice car man.

for the fender are they just stick on's? if there is no way then i would say color match them. the rims looks fine, i like them. as for the hood, either diy or have the pro's give it a clear coat. car looks sick

I would keep the wheels as they are.
The fender I would also leave it alone. Seems fine to me.
As for the hood, DIY and buy the clearcoat. ;)
It'll save you $$ and give you experience inc ase you want to do it on the same car or a different car.

yeah i agree with everyone, the car looks great, just try to do something with the fenders. Have you tried the certifit website? very very cheap fenders there.

Hey thanx again for your opinions. ive started the process... of painting them black *vents*

IF i dont like the way it comes out... ill just buy some paint stripper and spray some on and redo it or paint them another color... here are some progress pics

(ps im going flat black to match the rest of the car)

Well! I have completed one of my project.

I am pleased with the results. they "blend" in more than the silver with the rims:

BEFORE:
(these frist two pictures are reallly bad angles... my car looks 'small' but its because im on a hill and im 6'5 haha)

There are small imperfections because i was stupid and i didnt let the paint dry good enough before i put them on and i started to run out of paint (did2 coats)but they are only noticable when your "right on it"

tell me how you think this looks

(SIDE NOTE: i am thinking about getting some angel eyes in 2 weeks let me hear your opinions)

Blackkat911
05-08-2008, 08:56 AM
nope I didn't clearcoat it bcuz I wanted it to be flat so that it would match the rims. I think they look fine

you can do most of the work yourself.
The rims, just leave it like that :)
The fender grills (eww...), did they cut the fenders or just some sticky back?

Blackkat911

if you plan on getting a different CF hood down the road, i would just paint the center section black to match the rest of the car, then wet sand the entire hood and do a couple coats of clear. just my opinion. but other than that the black paint on the fender grills did wonders for that car. overall the car looks amazing keep it up.

i think the fenders look way better painted to the way you did, i'd leave the wheels alone, they look awesome! Once your CF hood is worked on, that thing will be freaking killer!
