Ok, so i have taken out my stock radio.

i HAVE 5 typs ofwires,

1. is for the antena

Yep
quote:

ORIGINAL: enigma34
2. is this plug that looks like a headphones jack? i think its for the 6 cd changer.

That is a DIN plug that works with Alpine M-Bus products and/or the factory tape deck.  So yep!

Now i have 3 plugs wrapped together in a black tube. two green plugs and a white plug.

A short green one was pluged into the radio also, but i dont know what it is?

The longer green plug, plugs into the HONDA SECURITY MODULE, that is screwd on the stock radio.

and the long wite plug, im gessing is what the aftermarket harness will plug into?

The white one should be the only one you will need since you are trashing your factory head unit!  The green plugs are for the security system and the factory keyless, which you said you were going to deep 6 anyhow.  Do you want me to post a pic of my harness that will plug into the factory white harness?  It is already soldered, heat shrunk, and taped.  It doesn't look pretty, but you will give you an idea...

ETA:  So that is where I can expect to find the alarm when I yank the factory radio out of my late wife's 1997 Civic EX and THAT is what they charged over $350 for her to put in the car?  Good grief, there is NO WAY that was worth $175 for the alarm unit and $175 to install.....

Yeah, you have to remove the whole friggin console to get the tape deck out!  After the console is out, there should be 4 bolts (two on each side) holding the tape deck in.

ETA:  Crimps done properly will work just fine for installing your radio.  I prefer solder because it works better on boats whereas crimp on connectors just corrode and break when exposed to the elements and salt water.

ETA2:  I am one of those uber anal "overkill" people.  My connection will outlast the item it is connecting in 99% of the cases!

The console as in first you pull the arm rest section, then you remove the plastic around the shifter.  I think you just need to remove 8 screws, but be REAL careful when pulling.

ETA:  I think you may need to remove your shifter knob too....  I don't remember if the plastic will clear the shifter or not...

THANKS, i got it out.

There was a cable that was leading under my carpet , it conected to the tape deck, and the wire coming out of the tape deck ran up to the radio. I thought this was the antenna cable? Know, that i disconected the tape player, i dont think this cable that was coming out of my rug from the arm rest, That plugged into my tape deck, will reach my new radio...

Where is the input for the antenna? Is it that long black cord all the way to the left? Or is it that input to the right of the two red RCA plugs?

Also the cord all the way to the right, what is that for? my stock radio did not have it, where do i plug it in?
