you don't have to but it's wise because it reduces the risks of detonation.

Not necessarily. riceburners got a built turbo that runs 91 i believe with no detonation. depends on the tune.

Yeah, if you have like 9.9.1 compression (Like a stock D17A2 has, I think) you'll run 87 or 89. High compression engines like the K20a2 with 11.x.x compression needs 91+ octane, because the high compression engine.

More or less, if you high compression, you would need it. And more or less, if you go turbo, you'd probably want to run on 91+.

its amazing how these little rice burners can use such a low octane fuel at such a high compression. i am use to working with V-8's and with them really anything over an 11.1 you should start adding octane boosters or mixing 93 octane with race gas (turbo blue), and anything over 11.75.1 you should only use race gas. i dont understand why its different for the smaller engines but hey run what you can.

so people in ohio cant run boost???? 91 or higher because thats usually the highest any one has (minus calli)

so, get boost, and have fun paying the $3.75+ gas prices....its really fun!!!!

Yes. You'll want to run higher octane fuel to avoid detonation. On the bottom of the product page it recommends it. 6-7PSI of boost is a decent bump on stock internals.

You'd want to run premium gas at least. You can get race fuel at some sonocoes (then again I like 5 minutes from a drag strip).
