I am looking at some 16 inch rims for my car and just wondering if they will look too small on my 2000 civic or what?
Also if you put bigger rims on than your stock ones will you lose gas mileage i just heard that from somewhere and i dont think its true but i was just wondering but yah here are the rims i am looking at and he said the lowest he will go for me since i am a civic guy is 150 bucks.

http://stlouis.craigslist.org/pts/666729685.html

But yah let me know what you think i think 150 bucks is a real good deal for those and yah just let me know if they will be too small for my car or what thanks alot

no 16 is a good size, from that add i would get new tires before u install, and to answer you question about the gas mileage yes you lose mpg if you have bigger surface area on the tires, but dont worry about that lol not even big deal, infact you wont even notice

yah i figured 16 would be a great size for my civic but ya i would get new tires but yah i probably wonnt even notice a difference why does it lose mpg is it because it is pushing more weight and that guy can probably drop the price to 130 dollars i think that is a heck of a deal dont you think so?

ii guese i dont know much about that brand, more surface area on the aftermarket tires = worse mpg. but you will also want to look at some lower springs i would go with the tein springs, but if you want to spend some money do a full coilover kit

You should ask him how much they weigh, that will be the biggest factor for mpg. Usually aftermarket rims are lighter (unless chrome). Cheaper aftermarket rims tend to be more heavier.

yeah, I'd go for it.  16's will look fine, especially if your car is lowered or you lower it in the future.  And $150 isn't a bad price at all.

*edit: with my stock wheels, I get ~30mpg, +/-2 mpg.  Guess what I get with my 17's... 30mpg, +/-2.
