Default Anybody know the compatibility?

We're considering ordering an imac G3 or Emac for my mom for mothers day. I'm thinking the only issue with that is compatibility. Now she really needs Powerpoint, Word, and other Microsoft Office programs. We have the install CDs for these. Would we be able to install and use these on an Apple? I belive it would be running OS 9.

They were originally bought for running on Windows. So I'm assuming that's what they're for.

then no, they cannot run on the mac os9. but you can get the program to run windows on your mac (might have to be os10) and run it and install your programs. but i'd recommend just buying microsoft office for mac, it's a lot nicer considering office was originally designed to operate on a mac first.

Man. I'm trying to find the Office that would sell for OS9. But I can't find a thing. All the Microsoft Office things I can find are for OSX or later.

i was going to suggest the same thing, but then again, we're not writing the check to pay for one, he's probably just trying to find something that will work with microsoft office so his mom can work on for cheap.
