I'm thinking about upgrading my vehicle's engine, would it be a good idea to swap my d series for a h22?

for future reference, please use the search feature and do some research before posting a question... there's a ton of info on almost any swap you want on this site.

Anyways, h22's are awesome motors, and put down enough power/torque to give you traction issues in the rain (a good thing in my book). You're looking at around $4k for a straight-up h22 swap... with an h2b kit (if you don't know what it is, search... h2b's are something to consider too), you're looking at a good bit more.

dang, i guessit's some big bucks there, i just looked up what a h2b kit is and it showed some prices around 1k, thanks for the tip.

the h2b is definitely worth it though. it makes the swap twice as reliable and the gearing is enormously better than the sloppy h tranny. it just depends on how much you're willing to spend and how far you want to go. but the h2b is a great N/A platform if that's your decision.

yeah, the h2b is an absolute beast... think about the h22's power/torque with the b16's gearing

But you can get the h22 full swap for $2250... the h2b kit for $1k, and a b-series transmission for probably $500 at most. So there's $3750. Now, the b-series axles are going to be cheap as f**k for stock replacements, and the stock b-series mounts will be easy to find and cheap, too. You'll only need one custom h22 mount (the one that actually mounts the engine to the car). I'm thinking the full h2b kit would probably only be around $500-$1000 more than a normal h22 swap ($4k), which isn't bad for what you're getting.

alright, well now i need some advice on a safeplace to get an H22 from, what would you guys recommend from any of your past experiences?

I've nevered ordered from them (or anywhere, actually) myself, but I've never heard anything bad about HMotorsOnline... well, actually one guy was b****ing about the guy's attitude when he asked about buying just a transmission... so I guess don't ask about buying just a transmission and you'll be fine lol
