205/45/16's LONGEVITY, Kumho's or Falkiens??

HCF Members,

I am considering Kumho Ectsa's, and Falkien 912's, size 205/45/16. Both series look quality for a low price. However, I want the tire that will endure longer, as opposed to the higher performer. Please offer your suggestions. Thanks again..

civicexracer,
I had been meaning the Ectsa ast's. Slightly more expensive than the Falkien 912's

inthezoneac, had meantioned the nitto's, who's NT-450's seem to fall in between the two.

Still focused on longlife tires; Recommendations/Inputs??

Verdict Made:

I was checking out www.discounttiredirect.com, courtesy of inthezoneac.
The results:

Yokohama AVID H4S: 87$/tire, 60,000M warrenty

compared to;

Falkien 912: 67$/tire, 40,000M warrenty.

I'll take the extra 20K

also that site offers warranties against any kind of damage to any tire they sell. If you get a nail, gash, tire explodes, whatever, have the warranty, ship it to them, and they'll send you a new replacement.

IMO dont cheap out and buy tires ONLINE. your not gonna get any kinda of warente really.

best to just pay the money and have a local tire shop instal/balance the wheels/tires and warente on the tires.

just think about it... you get a blow out in your ONLINE TIRES..... ok what you gota remove the tire then ship it in or something and WAIT to get the new tires.....
OR spend alittle more $$ and buy the tires localy with warentes then if you have a blow out or nail they can fix or replace them right then if they have a tire instock....
well worth it IMO!

they send you a new tire, it doesn't have to be after they receive the bad tire. I'm not sure how fast they ship it, but I assume they won't waste much time.

ill pass myself. buy my rims/tires from discounttire. several locations localy and they can cut you a deal..........

and as to the tire i like my ESCA ASX tires on my 17s. this is my second set ive bought and never had any problems with them. just remember if you get new tires best to spend alittle money and get a alignment done pretty soon to ensure the longest tire life!

i think its funy when people buy new tires when there old ones are unevenly worn and the new tires wear out fast just like before and they wonder why!
