Default rear seat pillar bar

i have a 98 civic ex
i ordered a while ago one of the pillar bars that is supposed to mount from across the seat belt bolts over the rear seat. well i got it off ebay so i know i get what i pay for. but it doesn't reach the bolts, its about 3 inches to short fully extended. it said that it would work with all models 96-00 including ex but since then all the other ones i have looked at say not ex. has anyone else had this happen?

but i did get my money back from the seller and then he never sent me a return shipping label which he said he would do, so i still got it siting around and it was free. im thinking of extending it but its a lot more work than it sounds if you want it to look nice.

sell it or somethin. dosnt do anything performance wise. not worth the hassle of chopping it up or w/e to make it work.

what im saying it that bar is to short to reach the bolt holes where the seat belts go on. that is were i was told it goes even though it is a "pillar" bar so is it supposed to go on the pillar there like civics with the seat belts on the pillar

I think that the bar you are talking about is supposed to be mounted in the trunk (behind the rear seat) not inside the cabin

its only like 2 inches to short, i have seen them on civic hatchbacks but the seat belts are on the pillar so is this one supposed to go on the pillars and if so is there a bolt on the pillar in my car where i can mount this?

Dude that one in your trunk is hardcore, I've never even seen that before.
OHHHHHHHH I get it in now, those pictures are what your talking about.
There's probably no way worth doing to make it longer, by the time it fits right,
you would probably have to compromise the stability of the bar too much to make it worth it.

The C-pillar bars are for hatches, not coupes (thus why it's short). A bar for the parcell shelf is rather pointless (since it's already got metal there), now a thicker plate of metal would work better.
