Default 99 ex auto to manual swap

this weekend ill be buying everything i need for a full swap and ive heard i have to completely take the engine out for it i wanted to know if this is true also if so wat maintence should i do on the negine while it is out of the car thnx for your suggestions

new throwout bearing
if you got the money put in an aftermarket clutch disc, pressure plate, flywheel, short shifter

If you got everything pulled out, you might as well upgrade drivetrain stuff clutch and bearing, shifter, CV axles (if you're gonna go after big power) things like that... might want to consider swapping out your engine/trans mounts for stiffer ones too.
