Default paint question

i have a 98 civic ex and i want to re-paint my plastic case around my cd player,and all my HVAC controls. how would i detache that from my dash?

i would recomend just leaving them the colour they are, the paint will only wear out and chip after a certain amount of time

Take a flathead and pop out the emergency light and rear window defrost buttons and unscrew the screws behind them, then take the flathead and pry the middle of each four sides. If I remember that's how you do it.

i would get the screws holding the plastic panel underneath the center unit. This requires you to also take out a screw on the left side behind the glove box. Then disconnect all the cables running to the unit and everything comes out together. then you can remove the pieces

If you really want to do something with that
just go to ebay and get a trim cover set.
It just goes right over your existing dash.
