Default woofer problems

I was having power problems with my subs so I took a day off and spent a little time to find out it was just a bad ground. Once power was fine I decided to make the power and speaker wires nice and tidy so I had to reattatch everything. Once I was done, everything was fine except now one sub barely fires. Whats wierd is once in a while it starts to work normal again and then either randomly or if the volume goes up, its starts to barely fire again. Any suggestions on what to do?

i would take the subs out and test them individually to be sure it is indeed the sub itself and not your connections. if it is the sub itself then check the tinsel leads. these are the wires that go from the terminals on the basket of the sub to the underside of the cone itself. have some power going to the sub and wiggle those wires to see if thats where the problem lies. if it does then you prolly need to replace the sub. i've had tinsel leads loosen on subs before and it causes it to act erratic cuz the connection is loose. i dont think you can fix this issue unless youre really good at soldering and even then you cant shorten the tinsel lead when soldering or it will get pulled out by the subs natural excursion.good luck and hope this helps.

One small thing that happened to me was that the speaker wire holder popped out and thne sub was acting funny. So i pushed it back in and it was fine. But like mentioned it might be a bad connection with that sub.

check your connections, I had a speaker going on and off and it was cuz I was hauling wood in the trunk and accidentally knocked one of the connections loose

check your fuse box on the power wire goin to your car battery....see that the fuse is tightly connected or is it a loose connection. if its loose remove the fuse then tighten the connections with a plier then stick in the fuse....I had this problem and the sub kept goin out on me randomly.
