Default Placement of Amp Bass Knob

Hey, I decided on a place to mount the remote knob to my Elemental Designs Nine.1 Amp......but I dont know how to remove the plastic piece on my dash so that I can drill a whole in the back of it to run the wire through and then mount the knob inside the holder.

I have a 1997 Honda Civic and here is the picture of the center dash (not my picture, but same thing)

The rectangle looking holder on the right of the head unit is where I want to mount the knob. I tried to take it out, but it only pops out a little bit. It seems to be connected to the outer frame that the head unit is in....so, how do I take this little holder piece out without breaking anything?

Here is another picture I found with the head unit out. You can see that there are two screw wholes on the left of the little holder piece....not sure what that is for, but I guess i ganna have to unscrew them in order to take the piece out.

Am I ganna have to take the head unit out in order to take this little holder piece out? If so, then how to I take the head unit out?

I'm not sure how it comes apart, but maybe you could take the glove box out (unscrew the hinges at the bottom), and reach around behind to that little piece from there?

Well....that might work.....but it wold be nice if I could actually take that piece out to drill a whole etc.....without having to take the whole center dash off aswell....but I might have to....

It looks like to me that all I need to do is take off that first rectangle outline piece for the radio out....that should reviel the two screw looking wholes for the little coin piece. then I should be ablke to just pop it out.....so.....how to you take the first rectangle outer cover piece for the radio off?

I picked another location.....it works out fine. Plus, its out of the way of everything. So, it's all good. All I had to do is wire it behind the dash like where your feet go...then under the carpet. It was easy and no disassembling required. : )

I attatched the pics in this message.

What do you think?
