Questions on installing powered sub in 2008 Civic LX
I am interested in installing a Blaupunct powered sub in my civic. What am I going to run into trying this. I want to use the stock radio and speakers that are in there, I just want to add a little bass and this thing seems to fit the bill.
Will I have to power it? Run new wires? Parallel it to my existing speakers or are there some spare outputs on the stock head unit? Is this a relatively easy mod?
I have installed some car audio in the past, but I am no expert by any means. Most of what I have done was in a jeep so, that was pretty easy. This civic dash seems pretty complicated.

yea you have to run power (12V), a ground, and speaker wires. You don't need a remote wire it says, the amp tells when to turn off by audio signal. You can run the wires parallel to your speakers. it's a molex plug though for the power, which i don't know anything about. you'll need a molex plug with wires on it to run to the battery, ground, and speaker wires.

I have done some research and I think I pretty much know what to do, but I was hoping to get some tips/advice on actually doing it.
I am planning on installing a Blaupunkt THB200 powered sub in my car. So far, I see that I need to run some power to my trunk and use a line-out converter to make this all happen. Best I can tell is that I need to parallel the LOC in with my rear speakers and then hit my powered sub coming out of the LOC. Right? What I am looking for is how to route the power wire back to the trunk. Any ideas? I really don't want to tear anything up doing so, or have to modify the interior in any way. I would actually consider putting that sub under the passenger seat if it will fit, but more than likely it will be in the trunk. Maybe if somebody has some pictures of a similar install that would be great too.
This is all kind of new to me so here are some dumb newbie questions. As far as fader controls will my sub be in those controls if I come off the LOC from my rear speakers? If I choose to put all sound up front will I lose the sub too (I am pretty sure I will)? Will I need to do a fair amount of tweaking to the amp and LOC to make the sound all right?

Yea, i'd run that parallel with your rear speakers... Unless the back of your factory stereo has RCA jacks for a sub (IDK if it does. If it does then you'll want to run RCAs from there to the sub instead of hooking it to the rear speakers.)
It's a pretty small sub and isn't that powerful so you might not hear it that great in the trunk. I'm not sure though, it could work.
If you wire it to the rear speakers your sub will be in the fader controls. If you put fade all the way to the front you're not going to hear the sub or the rear speakers.
With them wired into the speakers you're really going to want to use your Crossover that's on the unit you're buying. What it does is it only lets the sub emit a certain range of frequencies. You'll want to adjust this so that the sub isn't trying to put out frequencies that the rear speakers will take care of. That should take care of your sound quality once you get the crossover tweaked until it sounds good. Then of course you can adjust the subwoofer volume on your amp/sub.
With running the wires, just run the wires along the sides of the car, underneath the trim. You can remove the trim, put the wires underneath (use zip ties), and then put the trim and carpet back. For the power wire you need to run a wire from the battery to the amp/sub. You'll need to use one of the existing wiring grommets in your firewall for this. Also, make sure you run your power wire by itself. i.e. run the power wire on one side of the car and any other cables on the other side of the car (if you even have to run other wires.) You can just run the ground to a bolt in the trunk like underneath the trunk carpet.
Just to let you know, that sub/amp isn't going to be very powerful.

Any other suggestions on a speaker/sub.....Bazooka? I want to go this route because it seems easiest and cheapest....I am not really looking for a sonic breakthrough or nothing, just add a little bass to the inside for me to hear....not the neighborhood....
i installed it into a jeep grand cherokee and it did help A LOT.
If it was me... i would spend maybe an extra 100 bucks and get a real sub and amp though.... here let me see what i can find u.

Both of those products are made by top companies and will last u a long time. That subwoofer is one of the oldest products on the market today that still continues to sell and impress. u will have tight clean sounding bass for a bit more.... but its also going to last.

Yea, don't buy that junk from walmart.
It's a joke. You're better off waiting a few weeks, saving your money, and buying quality products rather than cheaping out and getting something NOW. That way you don't have to take the time to install a piece of junk then a few weeks later, replace the piece of junk that decided to crap out on you.
