Default 99 front clip on a 98?

Im new to the world of Civics. My 98 civic needs a few crash parts that include: both front fenders, hood, front bumper, and rear bumper. Im also planning on getting a new grille, headlights, and 99 tail lights.

My question is, since im replacing the front clip, lights, and grille can I go ahead and buy a 99 Civic front clip and just bolt it on or do I also need the core support? If this question sounds stupid, its only because I heard that the 99 Civic front clip is totally different from the 98. Please help me out, it is greatly appreciated. Thanks

Default RE: 99 front clip on a 98?

Welcome to the forums!

The 96-98 and 99-00 body parts are different, but the frame's the same to the best of my knowledge.

If you're doing a 99/00 front end swap, you'll need the 99/00 front bumper, grille (I think), hood, headlights, and fenders... I'm almost positive that everything bolts right up.
