Default LS tranny

Just wondering if any of you LS guys happen to know how high your revving in 5th on the highway doing roughly 80mph? And if you happen to know, how fast can you go in each gear redlining at whatever LS's redline at, 6800ish? Im thinking about swapping out my b16 tranny for an LS mainly for better gas miliage. I dont race my car enough to need such an insanely closely ratio'd tranny. Id rather get an extra 5-6 mpg.

I thought a LS tranny is for racing, keeps power even through both front tires.

No, LS tranny's have long gears that make it very easy to fall out of the powerband when racing. They are great for gas mileage though

long gears, but Limited Slip pretty much balances power through both wheels. Would you rather have a car with better gas mileage, better top speed, and better control of acceleration if you're engine is built/boosted or a regular tranny for a little quicker acceleration, but a harder time controlling it early on?

??? USDM LS trannys dont come with LSD. Most people would prefer shorter gearing and better acceleration to longer gearing and better gas mileage. Back to my question. How high are you LS guys revving on the highway at 80mph?
