Default what are the signs of a timing belt being worn out

want to know if there are any tell tell signs that when your timing belt get stretched over time that it makes your engine seem more like shooting an arrow rather than the explosiveness of a bullet

if your unsure of condtiion... replace it....

otherwise pull the valve cover and timing belt cover and look at the belts teeth if the inside tooth looks like it has any smooth spots in it then replace it ASAP or if ya have any frayed spots or crackily looking replace it ASAP!
if in doubt just replace it!
