Alright guys Im stuck...

I just found my AlpineCVA-1004 DVD Headunit in the shed..and im tryin to put it on my civic, and then put my PS2 in it... i have everything hooked up..
but it says picture off for your safety. So then i ran a toggle switch from the foot brake wire to a ground....

it plays sound on AUX, but it wont show picture....

If anyone can help, please do....

I assume that by foot brake wire you are talking about the parking brake wire. but you might want to look in your manual about turning on the display because some DVD units require a series of switching the parking brake on and off a couple of times before it will work. (in your case the toggle switch will be flipped on and off). they do this to keep people from just hooking it straight to a ground.

other than that just make sure that the connections are properly made and they are at the correct place on the switch.

To activate the DVD mode:
To watch a video source, your vehicle must be
parked with the ignition key in the ACC or ON
position. To do this, follow the procedure below.
1. Push the foot brake to bring your vehicle to a
complete stop at a safe location. Engage the
parking brake.
2. Keep pushing the foot brake and release the
parking brake once then engage it again.
3. While the parking brake is being engaged the
second time, release the foot brake.


Now, the locking system for the DVD mode
operation has been released. Unless the ignition key
is turned OFF, the DVD mode can be activated by
engaging only the parking brake. The steps above (1
through 3) are not necessary. Each time the ignition
key is turned OFF, the above steps must be
repeated.





or ya could just buy a video bypass unit for it

different model, but might work... it involves running two toggle switches.... Seems like a huge pain in the sack just to play a PS2 though...

the 1 toggle, 1 momentary switch is the cheapest way.... or buy a bypass and just wire it up directly.... just use the moomentary button for the brake wire and the toggle switch for the Ebrake wire.

with my alpine DD tv i have a video bypass on it and i dont have to do/select anything extra... just push the DVD button and watch

check ebay....... thats where i bought mine from. just type in the model radio you got and BYPASS and just search i think mine was like 20-30bucks.
