Default d16z6 head

Ok i finally figured out that when my motor was shipped it messed the head up and it was only a matter of time before my head blew... well it blew oil from the dizzy and i decided i needed a new head so i picked one up for $60 and luckly i have access to clean up the head and do a head gasket set, well do i need new head bolts and where do i get those and where is the best place to pick up a head gasket set???? should i go ahead and put better valves and valve springs in it ????

theres no better time than now. and look at ebay for a gasket set. oh, and remember that you cant retorque head bolts, but you CAN retorque headSTUDS, like ARPs, so thats not a bad investment, let alone that they are stronger than stockers.

guy i know that has a garage out where i live, im getting the bottom end of the car for $40, i just won an auction for an engine stand for a $1 lol so i have a SOHC i can build... i can get a good hook up on honda parts, he even threw in the vtec solenoid ..

Yes you can. 43 lbs isn't enough to permanently twist them.

ok heres a question, my motor in my car is the d15b and the head i have is a d16z6, now i was reading on different forums that the d15b's head has amore aggressive cam, can i use the d15b cam in my d16z6 head???

you can retorque them? oh well, doesnt change my opinion. i would still go with the ARPs. pretty cheap compared to having them stretch or something down the road.

but i dont think you can use the d15b cam, i think its 3-stage Vtec, right? i doubt it would work well, if at all.

you can use the cam from d15b into d16z6.i have just had d16z6 engine reconditioned we have used the cam from d15b.
