I saw a purple turbo civic today at dragway 42. i was wondering if the owner is on this forum. They could barely get it to run, I guess the ECU needed some tunning

yep. Quickest run was 16 flat with .625R/T @ 87.25MPH. After that I ran a few 16.2s and 16.5s. I smoke tires on the launch and my rear end breaks lose a bit when I switch from 1st to 2nd. I need some better tires. I'm not to much much of a drag racer, but I bet that spinning the tires affects my time a bit

absolutely the spinning hurts you...you said that your bmw is a euro spec...does that have any performance advantage over my 92 525 non euro spec? 16 flat is pretty good, how was the traction on that run? since putting the new gearbox and clutch in mine it has not been to the track, but when i ran it before, i ran 16.40s...if the tries would grip, the crappy clutch woudl slip, and if i babied the clutch enough to hold the power, it woudnt get out of its own way. ill have to try to find timeslips from those runs, it has only made 3 runs on the track. also, do you have an idea of the dry weight of your car? alot of questions, i know..sorry. i just dont meet many people (or any people) who run an E34.

I'm not sure if it has any advantage over US spec.

My car is a '93. In '93 BMW introduced VANOS which is very similar to VTEC in honda. This may be the reason why my car is a bit faster

It weighs 3483lbs with a full tank according to the manual. The fuel capacity is 21gallons. So, I think the dry weight is around 3300. Also the manual states that the car runs 1/4mile in 16.5, which is obviously BS

hmmm...we have upgraded to a performance computer, clutch, new gearbox, CAI, new plugs, new coilpacks, performance exhaust..most of that wasnt on when it ran a 16.40. do you have any pics of your car? my dad is under the impression that it is a great deal heavier. i know that he meant to have it weighed, but i dont knwo that he got around to it...i dont know if every model has all options like heated seats...power seats..so on..?

what year is yours? It could be pre-91 version which means that you have an M20 motor. My car has all of the options I could think of. The only performance modas I have are bilstein shocks, vogtland springs, racing dynamics cat-back, and 15" BBS wheels that are lighter than stock. I'm not too sure how to post pics on this site, but I'll try.

also, CAI does no good on these engines as the OEM intake is very well designed

I have the same wheels siting in my garage. U should also get clear corners - they make the car look newer. The headlights are euro ellipsoids "smilies)
