Default 2001 civic LX stereo removal

hey all.
i just got a 2001 civic lx. im tryin to put in my cd player from my old car, but i cant figure out how to remove the factory one. i have a friend thats good at this stuff but he cant figure it out either. I've searched the web high and low and can find pretty much nothing. please!, help a girl out with her stereo. i saw the post below about a 2001 civic EX but it looks just a lil bit different then mine. and also, it doesnt say how to remove the ciggerette lighter panel. thanx in advance yall

just pull on the cigarette lighter panel.

then there will be 2 screws that hold the AC controls and old radio. Remove those screws and then push and pull with all you got to get the unit out the first time. I used a screwdriver to help just be careful not to gouge your dash.
