I've gotten in the habit of showing off my drifitng skill so whenever
I have friends in the car, I show them in parking lots or going into
a neighborhood or something.
Well, yesterday, while going about 35-45 mph, I took a hard right
to get into a neighborhood and pulled my e-brake and not only did
I drift, but I drifted into a 540 spin and my engine shut down and
everything. It was a very scary moment for everyone in the car,
scared the hell out of me too. I never had THAT happen before.
So, no more drifiting for me. Screw that... haha...
Car is fine though, just a terrifying moment.

You call pulling and ebrake and sliding - drifting? Unless you can maintain control of your slide, you're not drifting, but being a BAD NAME. I don't see how it could be possible to drift in FWD car.
drifting is when you slide the rear end out in a RWD, then apply power to keep the rear end out all the way through the corner. a true drift isnt possible in a FWD car like a civic. e-brake slides are fun, but its not drifting. and its hard as hell on your car.

Yes, there's a "Replacement for Displacement". Its called Volumetric Efficiency.
So, what I was doing was just e-brake sliding? Man, my friends seem like gurus to me and they told me it was drifting... oh well, thanks for the clear up.

If you like drifting, then I would definately recommend watching "drift bible" . I'm not a big fan of drifting as a competitive sport, but that video is amazing. The drift king demonstrates and discusses different techniques of drifting. His cars included a silvia, MR2, AE86 GTS and something else that I can't remember.
