When did you changed your clutch?

Hi,
I'm second owner of this '90 Hatchback 1.5 litter engine with 4 speed transmission. I took me some getting used to on first roll when I got this car. The car I had before this had a lot more torque and run like a tank. Anyways the Civic accumlated more than 150000 miles. According to the maintenance record from the first owner, the clutch has not been changed since new. I was wondering how long the clutch would last. So the questions are: 1) At what mileage did you change your clutch?, 2) Where do you live? Flat land, mountains or hills? , 3) What kind of Civic do you drive? and 4) How do you drive? Oh I almost forget, 5) What type, brand of clutch did you change to?
I thank you in advance for your reply.

RE: When did you changed your clutch?

I changed the one in my 2000 Si at about 65k and I was pretty hard on it. I replaced it with an ACT 6 puck which Im not sure if I would recomment it or not. My DX had about 100k on it and I never replaced it and was pretty hard on it. My 94 Si has 160 and I am starting to notice some slight wear and have been thinking about exedy. Not to bad though considiering my girl drives it daily and its the car she laerned stick on. Id say it has about 10k left if I take it easy.

Now on my mitsu at 17k the cluth is making noise and I am currently saving up for and hoping it will hold long enough for the $1500.00 double plate clutch from exedy. Not to mention I am fairly lucky to have gotten the 17k out of it and I have been babing it like crazy.

Hi,
Thank you for your replies, guys. I hope mine will last more than 170K. With mileage I rack up, it will be this time next year. Since I am planning to replace mine myself while I must have means of transportation, I must be thinking of alternative transportation, now.
I would like to hear from more people.
Thanx

i went just shy of 120k on the original. then on my first swap, it should have had about 45k on it when one of the springs broke loose, fell down inside, and locked the clutch plate to the flywheel. that sucked. now i only have a couple thousand on the new Exedy on the new motor, with no sogns of weakening. (as it should be)

old american muscle cars used to either have an automatic (3 speed i think) or a "4 On the Floor".........was a 4 speed manual gearbox. I just never knew honda made em too.
