it's hard to tell what the best is... they all claim it, but good companies are Injen, AEM, and Comptech.

AEM was voted best mod to your car by consumers.

I would go with the AEM, I loved the sound of mine when I had it.

The short ram places the filter where you remove the air box, taking that temperature air... the cold air relocates it lower to take the air cooler than the air in the engine bay. AEM is definately a great company, im not sure what makes the v2 better, but i've only heard good things about it. If its any difference at all... your talking like 1 or 2 hp.

I know some people who go short ram because its "easier, and you they dont have to worry about sucking up water or crap in bad weather. But Ive had a cold air inatke in my car for over a year and driven in colorado snow and rain, and never had any problims. A cold air will only give you 1 or 2 horses over a short ram but its worth it to me. HP is HP.

I have a AEM full CAI on my hatch and i love it. The only difference in the v2 and the normal that i know of is you cant put a water bypass valve on the v2. that could cost you alot if you hydro lock your motor so i would go with an aem and get a bypass valve. short ram intake is just a shorter tube and it doesnt get cold air(not as effective) a cold air usually goes down into your front bumper somewhere to get the colder air

ok, well the v2 doesn't really make much more power than the aem normal cai, but the power curve is broader and you make the gains accross almost the entire thing rather than just up high.

From what I've read the V2 has different sized pipping, it expands midway through. I don't know how to explain but if you read the link @ the top of these boards you'll see why it has increased power over standard AEM CAI. After reading, it should clear things up.
