Default tranny swap

okay, here's the deal. my tranny eFF-d up a while ago and i was driving without 2nd gear and reverse til this month when i dropped in another tranny. well turned out this tranny was eFF-d up too. my question is this..
can i swap in an 80-ish crx or civic tranny into mine? i've swapped out heads and engine blocks, i figured i could do the same with the tranny, the only problem is converting it over to hydraulic clutch. i was thinking about just swapping tranny housings and using a crx gear box with my housing that way i could use the original hydraulic clutch set up but i couldnt pop the damn thing open.. is there any way to open up the tranny. my car is a 92 Civic DX

i think the internals for the cable tranny is like 1/4 inch too long anyway. but for simplicitys sake, just get another hydraulic one. or get yours re-fixed, it should DEFINETELY be covered by at least a warranty saying it will work initially.

im probably goin to have to look for another tranny of the same year cuz i simply dont have the time to take it in for repair. reason being is that i need to sell it for this front clip i got a goodass deal on for my FC. oh and FYI reason i asked this question earlier was because thats what we've done with our other cars, we've swapped out housings and forks. our ford explorer for example.. we simply got an aerostar.. or some kind of minivan, pulled it from the junkyard and changed the tranny housing with our original one from the explore and it bolted right in. i figured most other engine mechancisms are pretty much similar through out 89 and upwards right? the bolt pattern on the crx Dseries blocks is the same as the Dseries blocks from 92 and up right? just need some more clarification as to what changes within the years.
