Default is it bad to put on a intake manifold??

is it bad to put on a intake manifold and go long distance alot because i live in gainesville and i travel to miami about every two or three months. my step dad is a mechanic for like 30 years and he said i am making a mistake by putting on the manifold. he said it's not for travel. is that true can you travel yes or no. he also said it tends to get very hot. should i get a better cooling system??

I don't think an intake manifold has anything to do with the distance that you drive. If you get your engine tuned correctly, it shouldn't matter how long you run it.

You should be fine driving long distances with an intake manifold as long as it is good quality.

Does OBX even make an intake manifold? I went on their website and all they carry are turbo manifolds. My opinion is a Skunk 2 manifold.
