Default 12 seconds with 150 horsepower

"With only a mere 150whp and running on 94 octane we ran 12.6's @ 105mph. Not too bad for a stock 1.6L SOHC engine."

saw this one recently. streetsniper and I were talking about this in another thread, I thought it was worthy of being posted in here. id say its a pretty impressive testament for what aerodynamics and weight reduction (and probably a new transmission) can do for your quarter mile time. anyway, it also gives a lil hope to those sohc owners out there.

yes thats exactly what i was telling streetsniper. it is possible. i mean it is probably nearly a quarter of what your car weighs. so if you had a motor proportional to the weight reduction, you could run the same time with a lil more than a quarter of the horsepower you were pushing on the v8. and i think that is exactly what they have done. anyway, if you look at the pic on the link it tells you a lil about the car and the 12 sec run. you can see by the pic it is completely prepped for drag racing, i'm sure the body is just a fiberglass shell. the whole thing with driver is probably just over a 1000 lbs.

I looked all over that entire site and nowhere did I find how much it weighed. I guess that's a trade secret. It can't be more than 1500 lbs. though.

Hey Freaky, did you see my response about No Problem?

yeah, i definitely want to go to No Problems, thats like an hour from my house. i am doing nothing but working on the car this weekend, i have never changed a head gasket before so i'm a lil gun shy, but i think i should be done this weekend. then i can test out my drop zone cheap suspension and factory brakes at the autox. cant wait.

What did u drive that was 3700lbs (my friend's van weighs about the same), seems like really heavy for a civic.
