Default Question about B16 swap

I'm putting a B16 in my 92 hatchback. I was wondering if I can use the transmission out of my D15 or if I have to match the transmission with the motor. Thanks.

Default RE: Question about B16 swap

yeah, any b-series tranny will work, but the gear ratios are set up to work well with that particular engine. the best tranny is the one from a type r, but other than that, i wouldnt recommend interchanging too much (out of looking for ultimate performance, not any reliability issues.) if you are doing a b16, then try to get a b16 tranny. a gsr tranny wouldnt be too bad, just stay away from the ls tranny. also, stick to a hydrolic clutch one. the cable ones can be made to work with a kit from HASPORT, but its more expensive than just getting the hydro tranny in the first place.

if it's at all possible, i'd try to get the engine and tranny together as apossed to buying one then the other.
