My 98 EX runs a 17 flat with intake, header exhaust, short shifter, a 15" sub and box, 2 amps, everypart still in it, an exhaust leak, and a faulty speedo head unit!!! if i fix everything and pull my sound system ill break into the 16's easily. and that was a ****ty reaction time of like .3-.6

But here where i live in CENTRAL TEXAS it get hot as **** during the day time and the track didnt stay open as late as they normal do. Which should of been 1am but theyclosed at 1130. Which pissed me off because it just started to cool off around 1130. So that is way im still stuck in the low 17's.

the GT40 is another piece of garbage...that car is literally falling apart...they recalled them because of lower control arms seperating from the chassis.

im not afraid of the GT500...that poser POS, when released is going to cost so much, ill happily take a used Z06 or used viper, and wait at the other end of the track for the GT500 owners.

we dont get 105 temps here in charleston like you do in texas but I assure you, I was in texas a month ago while it was 105f and I was alking around whistling dixie. It was nothing. Come to the south atlantic coast one day while its about 99-100. You will pass out. Its a frickin sauna here with all the humidity.

with those mods and that much added weight, you'll be lucky to hit below 17.5. and RT has nothing to do with ET. you can sit there and spool your turbo for an hour and it wont start your ET till you move

just like i said - it looks as though the car is faster stock. Just throwing bunch of parts at the car without making sure they work together properly will not help you at all. FYI, the temperature will not make that much of a difference. Also, if you're that anal about cooling the car off, put q few bags of ice on the block and intake.

I'm also curious about a few things:

1. What diameter is your exhaust piping?
2. What kind of tires are you running? (good tires are important for any kind of racing, since they will definately influence your times)
3. Why do you want to change your bosch spark plug wires (said do on the site)? (bosch is the best, when it comes to electrical)

i believe it, there are quite a few people who hit low 17s to high 16s in stock exs. most average mid to high 17s though.
