Default head swap

okay, so should i go through with getting ex heads for my lx or should i just skip that and go with other stuff? i have AEM intake on the way to my house and i'm thinking my next bolt-on is underdrive pulley system, i already have Borla custom catback.

another question about mini-me conversions would it be possible to put stock heads from a 92-95 civic ex in my 03? i don't know any of these measurements...

I actually have the same question. I don't want to put up the cash for a full engine swap. I mean, sure, putting in a K20 engine is probably nice, if you can part with the cash. So I was thinking of trying to find a suitable head at a junkyard somewhere and swapping that in. The problem is, I'm not finding too many people that will say anything about what can go on the D17A1 block. All the answers I see are the typical "LOL, noob, get a real engine".

It seems likely that the D17A2 head should drop on no problem. Are there better solutions (again, other than a full engine swap)?

No, the stock heads from any engine other than the D17 will not work. Here's a step by step process. This is how you can get around getting an EX ECU and reflashing the key.

What you need-
EX Vtec head with solenoid
EX head gasket
VAFC
