ne1 work for UPS or FedEx?
 

anyone work for FedEx or UPS here. im lookin for a career change and wondering about what the approx wait time to become a driver is. i know at UPS u have to start on the ramps but am unsure about FedEx.

i worked at Fedex for a little over 3 years, and its a good place to work. i worked in the trucks as a loader for almost two years, then got a job in maintenence( building, not truck) i believe that as long as you have a clean driving record you can take the tests to be a driver. if not, then get a job on the loading docks, for every year of service up to three, they will give you $1000 toward the purchase of a van. at Fedex you own the vans, but it pays really well, but it also has some pretty long hours too. give it a shot though. its a great company, i just had some personal differences with one of the bosses in my maintenence department.

yea i have heard good things about both. ive never seen a fedex van b4. they all drive regular deliver trucks here.

we had a lot of people come work for us from UPS and they all said the union sucks and they dont handle problems as well as Fedex. i dont like unions, thats why i chose Fedex, and from everything i heard, it was a good choice. just something to consider.

that would be another nice bonus for FedEx then. i really dont care for unions. they are just out to make $$ for themselves they dont really help workers anymore. they just keep workers lazy. i have seen that here in the pop business. pepsi is in the union and all that has happened is the good guys get screwed and fired and the lazy ****s keep their jobs.

one day i was drivin around and some lazy union guys were out front of a college holdin their signs all pissed its not union work being done. as i pull in the guys give me a wave. i stop roll down my window in my truck and tell them im not in the union. and for them to get off their asses and stop cryin and get a job.

yeah, but coca-cola isnt doin real well right now either. ive taken a nice hit on my stocks. damn. but they still pay decent dividends.

hell no it aint doin ****. im not puttin any $$ into the company. with the way they waste $$ its no wonder our stock is so low.
