Another Question

I am getting a Civic from a police auction on the 30th of this month and I was just wondering what is the best top of the line motor to put in in a 1995 Civic 2dr sedan the b-18, b-16, os something called a spoon motor that someone told me about?

RE: Another Question

ok. the spoon motor guy is a tool who watches too much fast and furious. while spoon motors are great, everyone thinks its the be all, end all of honda motors because of the fast and the furious. now, that said, what kind of racing do you plan on doing? drag, auto-x, road (not street, road courses) racing? do you want to go turbo, super, N2O, or all-motor? let me know, and ill see what i can help you with. oh yeah, the all important question. how much are you planning on spending on the motor, power adders and drivetrain?

RE: Another Question

I am willing to spend about no more than $4,000 on the motor and transmission swap it self and not really sure about the drive train or any thing else until I get the motor part figured out I will figure out about what else I want done.

RE: Another Question

RE: Another Question

That would work, I know where I can get a b16 and transmission with every thing included ready to drop in to the car for $2,000 plus shipping I coul still have a thousant left over to do some pretty good motor work then.

RE: Another Question

Spoon motors are really good motors but they are more for road racing and auto x type events. and you wont find a spoon for less than 4000. try inlinefour.com they sell all b series motors for pretty good prices or you could try totljdm.com they also sell motors but they sell every jdm motor you can think of. hope i helped

RE: Another Question

2-grand is a great deal on a b16 assuming it has decent mileage. B18s are awesome if you have the money and spoon engines are over rated.

RE: Another Question

The 2 grand for the b16 and motor is for a brand new motor, but then the only problem is having to get the motor worn in. What is the reccomended mileage to break in a motor?

RE: Another Question

everyone will tell you different... me personally on my new car I didnt take it over 4grand for the first 1000 miles, after that then drive it like you stole it
