Starting A Hobbie

Hey everyone I am Tavid, 20 from Minnesota. Just started getting into cars and the like and well I don't have a Civic yet but I am looking to get one and cannot find a decent priced Manual one around this area. I have a clean driving record and for fun I asked insurance company how much I would pay per month on a 1999 Civic EX and it is in the range of $450 a month which I couldn't afford and I don't exactly feel comfortable buying off the net especially to someone I would only talk to and not meet in person. Well also I have a concern because I know absolutly nothing about cars in general let alone all the MODS that are done to them I have boughten a few magazines and all the stuff in there just looks like jibberish to me. Soo uhh... Just thought I would introduce myself.

Holy crap! 450 a month!? I have an '02 Si with 2 tickets of 26 over and 21 over and I only pay like $180. What company are you with? Oh and welcome. Just float around in here for a while and all that jibberish will start to make sense. Good luck with the car hunting.

Good Luck with Car Hunting. I feel your pain about the insurance. I pay $513 a month here in NY. Anyway, keep looking and I'm sure you'll get something in your price. You can also attend the Defensive Driving Course to lower your insurance rate.

Wow 450 a month thats NUTS, in the past 3 years I cost my former *note former, yes they did drop me :D* approx. $15000 in 2 accidents but I still only pay 97 a month sans collision, though even with collision its only 325ish. Call SafeAuto, I know their commercials are cheesey but hey beggars can't be choosers. Oh yes Welcome to the forum!!!!!

Search around read some articles it'll start making sense, hell even buy a book about engines(if you have a few extra bucks of course) but mainly you can learn anything on here that you can from a book. Good luck and hope you find that Civic your looking for.
