ok, here's my situation...

something on the passenger side of my car in the front make a metal clinking sound when i'm pulling to a stop. it only happens when i've been traveling a short distance at a very low speed, i.e. pulling out of my driveway, driving two houses down the road and stopping, never going over 10mph, or when i'm driving through a parking lot and come to a stop. i'll be in first with the clutch in when it happens. i'm not sure if this is a tranny problem or a brake or suspension problem, but my instincts tell me it's brakes or suspension.
we've taken the right wheel off, inspected the brake and suspension, and everything looked kosher. so then we jacked up the front end and checked everything, making sure all the bolts were tight. nothing out of the ordinary there either. it still happens, and some days it won't do it at all, but like yesterday it did it twice during the same trip. it's a 2001 ex coupe, and i'm wondering if anyone has had this happen or if anyone has any suggestions as to what it could be. it's just my opinion, but i don't think metal clinks coming from my car is a good thing...

If you have ABS, it could be something to do with that near the wheel. It could also be something to do with the CV joint.

it's not the cv joint from what we could tell. i dunno about the abs. i've got it on my car, but how would you go about checking it for problems?

i'm starting to wonder now if it's actually my transmission. this is the one thing i hate about buying pre-owned cars, you usually don't know how it's been treated.
