Default muffler - smog

i have a 1.5l 16valve civic stock. If I were to change the muffler to a matrix dual back muffler, would my car still pass smog?

no. it should, but it wont. go with greddy. its worth the extra money. you will get hassled about any aftermarket exhaust, but greddy evo is quiet enough to slip by a lot of cops.

how sure are you about this. i asked the guy i'm buying it from and he said even with headers, short ram, and the muffler, it still passed. he's in l.a. by the way. so it's the same law.

yeah, it shouldnt matter, but they will hassle you about it. just make sure that it isnt loud, if it can pass the decibel test, then when you get a ticket for it, you can go get it certified legal at a referee station. whats stupid is that you cant get it tested until after you get a citation.
