I can't believe some of you missed something toy boat said. What was it, something about if they want to stay in business they probably shouldn't post videos about street racing. Wow I mean the movies are kinda silly, but I sure as **** wish I came up with the F@F movies about street racing because the PUBLIC ATE IT UP FOR BREAKFAST LUNCH AND DINNER. You've lost your marbles buddy, get on the ground and pick em up.

ummmmmmmmmm what has ALOT of potential are the parts bought in Jeggs and installed under a civic shell. that isn't a "civic" racing. It is page 49 of the jeggs catalog. Those parts might as well be installed on a John deer lawn tractor. Would that make the John Deer a "street" machine with potential? quote:
ORIGINAL: AgentofDarkness We forget that the cost of Car Z to build is dramatically less than the cost of Car X stock. Car Z (civic) costs in area of 18k to build. Car X runs you in the 25k-30k range. THe point is that the Civic has a lot of potential.

Many forums don't even allow "kill" stories to be discussed. The sponsers of the fourms have stated they are not willing to accept the potential for legal problems, if a reader buys parts from them and crashes while street racing. quote:

Check out this little story A while back just down the road these 2 retards decided to do a lil street racing. One in a built Mustang and one in a Viper. Well they went tearing it up and came up on a intersection at around 130 to 140mph. The guy in the Viper backed off as the light was red and there was a car sitting there, well the guy in the Mustang did not because of the speed he was going he lacked the ability to see what was going on. To make a long story short the Mustang slammed into the back of a car at the redlight at 130mph, killing the driver and giving the passenger 3rd degree burns over 70% of her body. Both of the Girls in the car that was hit were 12th grade highschool students with 3.5+ GPA's and were very active in clubs and social gatherings in school. Also both were slated to be running for prom and homecoming queen, and both had full rides to a number of colleges. Well not anymore, the driver died on impact and the girl riding with here is luck to be alive. Well the 2 drivers of the cars that were racing even the Viper that did slow down and got in no wreck are in court for 1 count of second degree murder and 1 count of attempted 2nd degree murder. You may ask why I told this story and how it pertains to thisa thread well I'm about to tell ya. The way these two got together was a local shops forum. On their forum people openly talked about what, when, where, and how they were going to street race. The Shop which has been around for a good 10 years profits droped I think like 40% and they were made to totally get rid of the whole forum. Street racing to me is weak, if you think your car is so bad ass then take it to a track and prove it.

Good post. Many great points there. For those of you who don't know where you can "race" your car, do a web search. I think you will find that if staright line speed is your cup of the that vast majority of us live within an hour of a drag strip is that does test and tune nights where you can run 6-7 times for 20-30 bucks. If learing to DRIVE a car is your cup of tea, do a web search for the local Vette or Porshe club. The majority of the time they will have 5-6 autocross events per year, and they welcome all makes to come and have a day at the track. You don't need to have a Vette or a Porshe, you only need to be 18 and have a helmet, and the desire to learn. Tons of fun. Most people walk (drive) away feeling very humble about their lack of ability or lack there of. But stick around, and talk with people. You will find that most auto cross people are CAR LOVERS. They too were once 19 years old and driving a NON high performance car. They will be glad to assist you in any way possible. Quite often if you ask, you can get a ride around the course with one of the better drivers. It's fun....... http://www.springmountainmotorsports.com/ great school. Beat on THEIR cars.......... worth every penny. You will learn more while there then you ever dreamed. Once home, you will be able to drive better then anyone you know. (well most of the time)

Hell my local drag strip lets us run all night from 6pm to 12am for $10, and it aint no crappy track either with a bunch of crappy cars out there. It is Bristol International dragway that is prepped just as if the topfuel cars were running and we have a good number of sub 10 second cars running every week.

Everyone just stop, my god. Street Racing is stupid, so is drinking, so is smoking pot, so is spending all your money on civics, so is not going to college, so is speeding. You could argue this point and that point forever. Did you know that the amount of people that die in street racing accidents is so low that its not even brought up at Drivers School to the 16 year olds? The risk of you dieing from a street racing accident is less likely than if you are driving to the store for groceries. Does that mean I condone it? Maybe, I know for fact that in the right environment street racing is only dangerous to the one doing it (i.e. car failure of you or the person you're racing against), which is the same risk if you're at the track. Yes there are idiots that do it on major highways and roads, yes this is stupid. So is the guy who beerbongs 15 beers at his frat and then falls out a 3rd story window. The university tightens its drinking laws becuase of the few retards who aren't responsible. Saying all street racing is stupid, or that everyone who does it is a "retard" is like saying all black people eat fried chicken, its a narrow minded point of view that leaves no room for discussion. Ever heard the phrase "guns don't kill people, people kill people?" Same EXACT subject here. The irresponsible person with the gun kills people, just like the irresponsible person behind the wheel can kill a person, regardless of street racing, drunk driving, or just not paying attention. Somewhere in the area of 80% of the United States popluation live in suburban areas, we don't have tracks to go to each week, so I guess we better just not race at all....right?
